Every Step Counts is a gentle, supportive walking group based in the Sevenoaks area. These free, well-being walks are for people who would like to get outside, chat and meet new people at the same time as improving or maintaining their fitness.  Our group walks are led by friendly, specially trained volunteers who are on hand to provide encouragement and support, and make sure no one gets left behind. As these walks are specifically for those who are less active, the length and the speed of the walk will vary to accommodate our walkers’ differing abilities and needs.
Many of our walkers have made new friends, discovered old ones and this has helped to combat loneliness and encouraged structure, purpose and regular exercise. We find our walkers help each other with their physical and mental journeys and indeed many join us for 2,3,4 or even 5 walks a week.

We also run two gentle seated free exercise classes, one in Riverhead and one in Swanley.

Every Step Counts has always appreciated how much friendship and a chance to chat is intrinsic to mental health especially during these dark days of Covid 19. Each walk ends with refreshments and a chance to socialise inside a café, pub or suitable venue.
