Care Improvement Works
Skills for Care and the Social Care Institute for Excellence have launched Care Improvement Works – a free online resource to support managers of care services for adults find reliable resources to support improvement.
The resource gives managers, owners and care staff the confidence to challenge and change practice. It pulls together all Skills for Care and SCIE relevant, freely available resources that are useful for care providers and also points to related resources from Think Local Act Personal and the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.
All the products on Care Improvement Works are mapped to the Care Quality Commission’s five questions and key lines of enquiry (KLOEs):
Are they safe?
Are they effective?
Are they caring?
Are they responsive?
Are they well-led?
Care providers can use the online resource before and after inspection, or at any time, to identify products that support improvement in areas where they may have concerns, or to review their current practice against recognised good practice. People who use services, and carers, can also use the products to challenge their care providers.
