• Devon Memory Café Consortium support memory cafés for people with dementia and their carers across Devon.
• Disability Focus is a not-for-profit organisation established in 2007 with the objective to support individuals to manage their care package. They offer a wide range of services which are designed to help you maintain your independence.
• Living Options Devon works across the South West to ensure that people with disabilities and Deaf people (who use British Sign Language) can live the life they choose.
• Moorland Community Caring work to reduce loneliness and improve the wellbeing of adults in the Ashburton, Bovey Tracey, and Buckfastleigh communities.
• Teignbridge Community and Voluntary Services empower communities to find and deliver their own solutions by promoting Active Citizenship across Teignbridge.
• The Alice Cross Centre Teignmouth provides a host of activities including Weekday Lunch Club, Music on Monday, Line Dancing, Party Night, Computer help and Wiggles and Giggles.
• Totnes Caring offer wellbeing support to enable people to live independently, have a better life, and be connected to their community.
• Volunteering in Health are a volunteer-led practical and emotional support service in Teignmouth, Dawlish and Chudleigh. Support includes transport to medical appointments, befriending, memory support, and more.
• Wellbeing Exeter help people in Exeter by accompanying them to social opportunities within the community. They can also introduce people to specialist advice services, refresh skills and support learning new ones, and help people to pursue their passions and interests.
• Westbank offer carer support services from preventative advice and information to carers assessments and support planning. They also provide volunteer-run community services such as helping people to settle back at home after a hospital admission via their ‘Neighbourhood Friends’ scheme.

Microprovider advice and support project in Devon

This initiative represents a strategic collaboration between Disability Focus, Devon County Council, and Community Catalysts. It underscores the council’s commitment to increasing care and support options for the community in Devon. Disability Focus will use its extensive experience in empowering individuals through Direct Payments, supported by Community Catalysts’ decade-long expertise in facilitating the nationwide development of community micro-enterprises.
