Enterprise nominated for the BBC Oxford – Make A Difference Award – Carers Category
Oxfordshire micro-enterprise In Friendship have been shortlisted for a BBC Oxford – Make A Difference Award in the Carers category. Now down to the final four, the winner will be announced in September 2022.
Taqwa Galpin, who owns In Friendship recalls finding out about her nomination:
“I answered a call from Radio Oxford on a day I was feeling poorly and thought they may want a chat about what we did so I tried to hurry the lady off the phone as I sounded awful! She then told me that it was actually not to chat but to tell me that we had made the final four in the Make A Difference Awards in the Carer Category! I was so shocked but absolutely thrilled!”
In Friendship was set up to bridge the gap for older people who didn’t feel they needed full care but instead a little bit of support, companionship and to get out into the community to have fun. The team at In Friendship have built beautiful friendships with clients and go above and beyond for them all so this nomination is a real team effort. We love how every client chooses what happens on a visit and that they feel empowered – it’s an amazing job!
“Community Catalysts has been so helpful getting us set up as a business, giving us support to make sure our team has everything in place and from that we have been able to concentrate on our clients.” – Taqwa Galpin In Friendship
