New community micro-enterprise, Community Catalysts and Small Good Stuff

Everything we do at Community Catalysts tries to ensure that people who need care and support to get the help they need to live the life they want.  A big part of this is the nurturing of very small community enterprises and ventures that care for or support people in their local area.  In areas where we have a local presence we offer community micro-enterprises and ventures direct advice. We also help them through Small Good Stuff, a website where community micro-enterprises can promote what they offer, link with peers and get help and information.

Community Catalysts recently worked in Staffordshire supporting the people connected with 4 council-run day services for people with a learning disability to think about their future. From this work a new community micro-enterprise emerged, based in Tamworth and called Creative Choices. Creative Choices offers a range of supports guided by people’s aspirations and aimed at unlocking their potential. They offer people support during the day and at home, offer training and brokerage and run initiatives like ‘The Vibe’ , a Saturday morning social club. You can read more about what’s on offer from Creative Choices here.

Gary, one of the Directors of Creative Choices had this to say about how Community Catalysts and Small Good Stuff have been of help to them.

I would just like to say a big thank you for all your help recently in developing our new Social Enterprise company Creative Choices and our spin off ‘The Vibe’.  Community Catalysts have helped us from the beginning when it was just an idea and now we are a fully operational working company, you have given us lots of help and support during our journey and in some ways helped to shape what we are today.

We still have a long way to go and find your website Small Good Stuff very useful for our ongoing and future needs.  The site is a treasure trove of information, especially useful was the policy and procedure templates, this alone has saved us many hours of work and we can adapt them to fit our individual needs at Creative Choices.

All of us here at Community Catalysts wish everyone involved with Creative Choices good luck and every success in their future journey.
