Abingdon Support

Abingdon Support is a new company set up by myself Nicola Welland, based in Abingdon and the surrounding area.

I became a support worker around 2 years ago in the middle of COVID lockdown. After working in retail, catering and optics, I found myself wanting to do a more rewarding job.

So I trained working in a local day center, and fell in love with support work.

With the pandemic I know how hard it has been for everyone, especially those with learning disabilities and Autism to receive the care and companionship they need, just not seeing friends is bad enough but when you cant get out and enjoy everything you did before it really makes a huge dent in you personally.

So with that I started up Abingdon Support, we are a service which deliver one to one support to people who would like to go and do fun things, this maybe a few hours work experience, going to the gym, going shopping or for a walk or just someone to have a cup of tea with.

We like our clients to have fun no matter what they would like to do and we believe every opportunity should be open to everyone, so if you would like to go trampolining one afternoon…then why not!!!

I have lots of experience with activities and resources in the area and will try my hardest to find things that suit each person, I also know the cafes with the REALLY GOOD cake.

Please feel free to contact me to find out what other things I can offer and maybe meet for a chat (over zoom or in person if you would prefer)
