The Day Centre is open every Wednesday from 10 till 3 p.m. for the over 65s within the local community.
We are an exciting New Award Winning Day Centre open every week, 50 weeks of the year. We provide a safe, warm environment for the members to come to, so that they can catch up with their friends. We have games and other activities throughout the day, all designed to stimulate such as arts and crafts, board games, dominoes, cards, quizzes and such like. Every week we have a gentle seated exercise session, and plenty of music. A freshly cooked nutritional 2 course lunch is cooked on the premises, we often have a games afternoon of boccia, bowling, and curling. We also invite musicians in to entertain us in the afternoons, and speakers to come and chat with us and give out relevant information.
There is an information hub every week with lots of information about help that is available for seniors, along with aids to make life a bit easier around the home that the members can try, there is also a loan book and puzzle service, and a large selection of greeting cards and stamps available weekly. A local chiropodist visits the centre every 6 weeks at a much reduced charge.
