Back into the Groove - Move to feel better

Back into the Groove offers dance and fitness opportunities for adults who find it hard to access mainstream classes, including people with dementia and their carers and adults with learning and physical disabilities. Our fun and creative classes are person centred, we’ll talk to you first about how we can help you to achieve your goals, whether it’s staying independent, improving fitness or reducing anxiety or isolation.

Our classes are supportive and non-competitive, participants can sit or stand, we’re good at adapting to different needs. We use our wide knowledge of different music and dance styles to engage with memories, capabilities and individual preferences. So if you’ve always wanted to have a go at Salsa, Folk or Flamenco dancing we can incorporate it into our class. We’ll also be using our expertise to increase flexibility, strength, cardiovascular fitness and improve balance which helps with falls prevention.

All classes will include opportunities to socialise and make new friends over tea and coffee afterwards. Our goal is for everyone to finish the class with a spring in their step and a smile on their face.
