My name is Claire Walker, I have worked as a community carer and person-centred counsellor for a number of years, and have a genuine intrinsic value of wanting to help and support others. This value lays at the heart of my small and trusted care business, Claden Care. I can often be spotted in the community with my 8 year old therapy dog Elsie, who loves to join me on my visits getting lots of fuss and attention. If you request to see her on our visits, her relaxed and happy nature will be sure to brighten your day.

I acknowledge that every day tasks can become increasingly difficult as we age, and that bringing someone into your home to assist you with those tasks can seem overwhelming and intrusive. However, you decide what you need and when, and we can work together in maintaining your home independence. I believe in the importance of building a relationship and choosing a caregiver who is right for you and your individual needs. Therefore not only can I provide essential homecare support, but a sunny personality, which will allow for a laugh and giggle along the way.

Whether you’re looking for help to get washed/showered and dressed for the day, or assistance with a healthy meal, I can support you in a positive, organised and professional way. Checking in with you on your medication, pharmacy collections or shopping essentials can also be beneficial and reassuring. I take the subject of confidentiality seriously in all aspects of my work, therefore you can be assured that your personal details will be stored confidentially with all areas of privacy respected.

I am 45 years old, educated to Level 4 diploma level, with all mandatory and statutory training updated on an annual basis. Most recently this has included First Aid, Safeguarding and Manual Handling. I am also fully insured and enhanced DBS checked. This helps to reassure that you are in safe hands when choosing the right carer for you or your loved one.

My interests include crafting, painting, gardening, animals, and current affairs. I am always keen to support you with your interests and hobbies, understanding your likes and dislikes, thus enabling a better understanding of your life and how you like to live it.
