My name is Carolyn Hornblow, and I am a Registered Nurse with 35 years’ nursing experience in the UK, Australia and California.

I now live in South West  Scotland near Dumfries and Dalbeattie, and I offer Bowen Technique Therapy, Spiritual Healing, and Reiki and Colour Vibrational Therapy from my own wellness clinic in Colvend.  I have over 15 years experience in Bowen Technique Therapy and am trained to an advanced level. I am also an approved  Spiritualists National Union healer, and I am trained in Reiki

Bowen Technique Therapy is a gentle movement performed over muscles in a specific way with pauses to help the muscle come out of spasm and relax.

Bowen Therapy can help with issues like muscular-skeletal conditions such as neck pain, back pain, sciatica, shoulder pain, elbow, knee and ankle issues.

It can also help to increase mobility and balance due to increased flexibility and less stiffness. Other issues addressed are dizziness, irritable bowel problems, tailbone pain, asthma, and childhood bed-wetting and colic.

Local GP’s have recommended their patients to me  and I’ve worked with people on Bowen Therapy of all ages with from 8 weeks old to 103 yrs old!  If there is no improvement after 4 – 6 sessions, I then recommend other therapies with other practitioners in the area.

Spiritual Healing and Reiki  can be very relaxing and calming and has been known to help on many levels. In the USA this energy work is called Therapeutic Touch and is performed by nurses and others on hospital patients and charted as part of their treatment programme. Documented benefits had included lowered blood pressure, lowered pain perception, and improved sleep and appetite .

Colour Vibrational Therapy (CVT)is a combination of energy work and coloured full spectrum light  to assist balance and well-being. Different colours have different actions.  For example, red stimulates and warms and blue soothes and cools.  Follow up ‘homework’ is part of this therapy.

My prices range from £ 25 – £35 depending on the therapy, with an initial consultation charge of £40 for Bowen Technique Therapy.
