Creating Musical Participation

Creating Musical Participation runs “weekly Sing Together”sessions in Wimborne, Blandford and Dorchester  Our sessions are suitable for anyone who enjoys singing (no experience necessary, although if you have enjoyed singing with groups in the past, we hope you will also come to join us.

Our sessions in Blandford and Dorchester also include a number of exercises for good vocal health, delivered through song and especially helpful for people with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s MS or stroke, Singing has so many health benefits for all ages, can be really helpful in improving self-esteem, confidence and memory and encourages good vocal health as well as coordination. Sing Together is informal, fun and a lovely social opportunity too.

Caroline has trained with the Alzheimer’s Society (delivering Singing for the Brain sessions on Zoom through lockdown) and is an associate of Sing to Beat Parkinson’s (Cantata Trust) and a member of the Singing for Health Network. Please contact Caroline through the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/CreatingMusicalParticipation or the  website http://www.creatingmusicalparticipation.com  or via email creatingmusicalparticipation@gmail.com for further details.

I also run the Musical Memories Group for Prama Life on Thursday afternoons at Sherrin Close, Oakdale. Please contact Prama Life/ Prama Care for more information.

Creating Musical Participation also provides personalised music sessions in the comfort of your own home. Perhaps you used to play the piano, or sing in a group, or perhaps you have always wanted to be able to play famous tunes on the piano. We offer you the opportunity to do just that, creating sessions that suit individual musical preferences and meet particular needs.

Playing a musical instrument or singing can keep your mind and body active and healthy, and playing regularly can improve memory, mood and confidence.

We will bring a keyboard to each session and chat about the music that you would like to play or sing. So there is no need to have an instrument or music of your own, but if you would like to purchase a small keyboard for practise in between sessions, we can advise on some inexpensive models.

We have many years of experience working with individuals and groups, young people and the older generation. We love a whole range of music and really enjoy reminiscing with people about special pieces of music. If you enjoy music and would like to sing your favourite songs, or play duets and famous tunes on the piano, please do get in contact with us. We look forward to making music with you and also giving you a chance to hear some of your favourite pieces played just for you.
