Family Care Direct is a non-profit making organisation. We work with adults with learning and/or physical disabilities, or mental health needs to nurture and develop independence in their daily lives. Our wide range of services and activities are tailor-made to the needs and abilities of each of the people who we work with, and we are able to include transport with our services as we have use of an adapted mini bus.

We offer the following range of services

• day activities
• breaks
• short and long term respite
• days out and holidays
• shopping and excursions

In addition, we also offer gardening therapy activities which take place mainly at an allotment, the aim of which is to  develop technical skills of individuals and groups in organic kitchen gardening.

We have plans to extend these activities in the future to include other allotments, and primary, secondary schools and universities in Birmingham and possibly beyond. Greenhouses will be used for winter gardening and raised beds will be erected to make our garden therapy activities accessible to people who use wheelchairs.
