Friendly Feet is about the provision of regular personal home care for your feet by me. Foot care is a sensible practice to ensure that your feet are maintained in the best possible condition.
The core values of Friendly Feet are the provision of professional, trustworthy and of course friendly foot care from a local resident of South Somerset – I live in Winsham a village not far from Chard and Crewkerne on the border with Dorset.
I hold a diploma in non surgical foot care which I passed with distinction, an Enhanced DBS check carried out by the Care Quality Commission, I hold professional liability insurance and am recommended by Age UK as a provider for foot care services in South Somerset and West Dorset.
I am able to offer care and advice on the following:
· Nail cutting.
· Thickened nails and treatment of.
· Ingrowing toenails.
· Relief from corns and cracked heels.
· Athletes Foot and fungal nail treatments.
· Diabetic foot care.
I follow the Code of Conduct for Healthcare and Adult Social Care workers in England as recommended by skills for care via the Department of Health (2013)
COVID-19 – I ask all my clients to complete a pre-treatment questionnaire, which covers an assessment of both the Client’s and my own health prior to any agreed treatment.
At six monthly intervals I always update the initial assessment/ Care plan template for your feet and at the end of each session note what treatment you have had and the client signs to say that this has been completed to satisfaction.
I provide the following footcare options –
Standard Session – costing £25.00 and lasting an hour I first soak your feet in a lovely warm footbath with Epsom salts to soften your skin, nails and relax your muscles. Whilst this is happening we can discuss any concerns you have regarding your feet. Then an exfoliating rub followed by a trim and file of your nails, treatment of hard skin, thick nails, fungal infections etc. We end the session with a relaxing foot massage and moisturizing cream to finish. If there are two people at the house who require treatment the cost is £45.00
An express session lasts half an hour and consists of a nail cut and file, hard skin file and then massage and moisturising cream to finish. This costs £20.00 per head or £35.00 for two people at the same house. An upgrade to the standard session is always available.
Most clients engage me to look after their feet every six to eight weeks depending upon how fast their toenails grow.
I always agree with each client that if between sessions their feet become uncomfortable, or they are not happy with anything then I encourage them to contact me so that we can agree the best course of action for them.
