GB Joinery Tech & Handyman Service

An introduction

Hello, my name is Neil.

I provide a joinery and handyperson service at affordable prices to support people within the local community and hopefully to make life a little easier for those that need help.

After finding myself redundant at the age of 50, I decided to retrain in something which I enjoy. I attended Coleg Cambria for 2 years and trained as a Joiner. I left with City & Guilds level 2 distinction in site Carpentry.

I love working with wood and improving people’s lives with each new install. I would like to put a smile on people’s faces by offering my services as a Joiner and as a Handyman.

I enjoy reading and watching films, and spending time relaxing in my garden with my Koi pond.

What services can I offer?

A lot of my fellow tradesmen are very busy carrying out major works to homes, so it can be difficult and frustrating to find someone reliable to carry out very minor repairs or alterations.

I can supply most items, or I can fit your own provided they are of the correct type and specification.

Light DIY tasks such as:

Putting shelves up, putting curtain poles/rails up, coat hooks or building flat pack furniture

Fitting grab rails or adding an extra stair rail

Or perhaps you just need help to move furniture to make access easier.

Bigger tasks but not major works:

Perhaps you need your internal doors or frames replacing, repairing or adjusting, or you want to replace your skirting and architrave?

Maybe you need an extra cupboard adding to your kitchen, or your worktops or cupboard doors need replacing or updating or even just repairing?

I can repair or replace squeaky, uneven or damaged floorboards but this is subject to assessment

I can fit laminate and vinyl plank flooring if carpets are causing issues with mobility

Loft access provided

I have experience in tiling floors, kitchens and bathrooms

I can provide photographs of previous work

Electrical work: As I’m not a qualified electrician I am unable to do this in bathrooms, kitchens or outdoors. I can replace socket fronts, switches and light fittings, but they have to be a like for like replacement. I can however provide details of someone that can help, when I can’t.

Basic plumbing work: As I’m not a qualified plumber, I don’t normally work on plumbing. I can however provide details of someone that can help.

Garden work: Maybe you’d like fencing or gates replaced, or a pergola building. Perhaps a small patio or decking to enjoy some time in your garden? I only offer this service during the warmer months, but can measure, estimate and plan when it’s cold outside.

Painting and decorating.

If it’s something I am unable to do, I will be honest and maybe direct you to someone who can carry out the work at a reasonable cost. My advice costs nothing except a cup of tea and a chat.

Peace of mind – I am fully insured and DBS Checked
