Helen@Home

Hi my name is Helen Parker.

I like to think I’m a positive, enthusiastic person with a fun sense of character. I am reliable and professional.

I live in Yeovil with my husband and have two grown up boys and a granddaughter.

I offer a flexible responsive, person-centred support service that gives people choice and control over the support they would like.

I offer a traditional service that is viable and offers security tailored to your needs.

Over the years I have done a lot of voluntary work in the children’s sector winning a national award for volunteering in 2014.

I have worked in adult social care for the past 10 years with SCC, working mostly alongside adults with learning disabilities, as a support leader.

I have worked in a varied range of settings including day services, supported living and the community.

I have experience in adult social care, learning disabilities, elderly care, child care, mental health, challenging behaviour and dementia.

When my two boys were growing up I worked and trained in child care and became an adult tutor and NVQ assessor.

I have an NVQ2 in health and social care and an NVQ 3 in child care and special educational needs; I also have a level 4 qualification in managing quality standards.

I love to cook and have a 706/1 and 2 in catering, which I did when I left school; I am often found in the kitchen making cake for my friends.

I have just become an eating and drinking link worker, supporting people with eating and drinking problems and dysphasia.

I have a diploma in dementia and other training and certificates in moving and handling, medication, safeguarding, data protection, first aid, fire safety, etc.  A full list can be given upon request.

I offer services to people who need care or support to independently live a full life and keep well in their own home and be part of their community. I promote diversity and equality and am compliant with all legislative and regulatory requirements, including insurance an enhanced DBS. I also have excellent references.
