Kye Tidman Achieve

What I Offer

Hello!  I’m Kye Tidman, and I have worked in day service settings for three years and have experience supporting people on a one to one basis.

I have a degree in photography, and have worked professionally as a photographer using art and design to set tasks and guide people through their own self directed projects

Previously I have supported a group of students with learning disabilities to produce and present exhibition quality images including work with Hereward college students in Coventry, where we displayed projects at the Herbert Art Gallery.

I have worked with community projects in and around Taunton such as the Taunton Association for the Homeless, RAFT (Refugee Aid from Taunton), St Giles Animal Rescue Centre, and Wiveliscombe Community Radio, where I have supported people to volunteer, produce, edit and present their own radio show.

I have experience working one to one with people to achieve their goals as well as supporting them to complete basic tasks such as cooking, cleaning and banking.

My main aim is to support people to live a fulfilling and independent life as far as possible.

As a micro service provider my focus is completely on you.  Essentially, this means you’re the boss!

It is you who drives the service you require and who sets the goals you want to achieve, where your voice is always heard.

I aim to be a fun, thoughtful and goal orientated support worker who is professional, approachable and relaxed.

I encourage creativity and any ideas, whilst maintaining a safe and responsible environment to explore your surroundings and take advantage of what’s available to us to help you achieve your goals.

If you have an interest in photography, a range of camera equipment and a laptop will be made available, along with a tutorial on how it all works.

If your aim is to get into a work placement I will provide support with finding appropriate work placements and working with the employer and you to create a plan that will potentially lead to a paid work placement.  This will include help with application forms and CV’s, support where appropriate on training and induction programs and in work, forming a link between you and an employer.  I aim to provide support in a positive way to build confidence in a workplace environment and forming professional relationships with colleagues.

GOALS

  1. To ensure you get what you want and need whether this means traveling, help with banking, shopping or any daily task.
  2. To support you with projects and to provide a safe space to explore ideas.
  3. To support with exploring places that interest you (the library, museums shops, days out to the seaside, and other places of interest).
  4. To encourage and support any voluntary work in areas that may be important to you.
  5. To support work placements and encourage, where appropriate, you to aim to achieve employment in an area that interests you.
