Me and B Support at Home

Hello, my name is Lynne. I have over 20 years’ experience in Social Care, supporting the elderly, and in mental health services and safeguarding vulnerable adults with Kent County Council previously as a Registered Social Worker.

I have been very privileged to have supported some amazing people over the years, and sometimes their families too, but I seemed to be spending less time in the community supporting people with the challenges they face, and more time in front of my computer, which wasn’t for me.

So, after lots of chats with my friend Barbara and with her help, I decided to set up on my own offering support using the skills and experience I have gained, and my love of working with people.

I would very much like to be able to support you with a variety of services, such as….

  • Attending appointments
  • Companionship and meeting with friends and family, or just popping out for a cup of tea or coffee
  • Shopping and meal preparation
  • Going to groups and activities such as the cinema
  • Ordering/collecting prescriptions
  • Housekeeping and laundry
  • Support with letters and bill paying (budgeting) and advocacy
  • Learning new skills, or working on existing ones
  • Accessing volunteering or employment
  • Respite for family members
  • Graded exposure and travel training on public transport
  • Support with pet care
  • Engaging in therapeutic activities like craft, mindfulness and wordsearches

I am very flexible with times and can work evenings and at the weekend where required.

It can be daunting when considering homecare for yourself or a loved one, but please be reassured that any support will be tailored to the person’s needs and wishes and delivered with the utmost respect, care and compassion and that a high level of confidentiality is always maintained.

Sadly, Barbara ‘B’ left us in October 2022 following a brave and dignified battle with cancer. But, she promised that she would be forever sat on my shoulder watching over me. And I promise that all that I learned from her, and the core principles that we had discussed will be at the centre of the support that I will provide…..

To ‘B’ Kind…. ‘B’ Caring…. ‘B’ Reliable…. and ‘B’ Honest.

Please contact me if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.

Lynne
