More Than Words is a community interest company based in Wigan, Lancashire. We provide half-day and full-day dramatherapy-based workshops for children, young people and adults with disabilities and autism. We use theatre, music, dance, poetry, singing and creative activities to help people to develop their confidence, express themselves, develop their social skills and self-esteem, and achieve their aspirations. We also offer bespoke drama performances, training and consultation packages for organisations, which are both unconventional and enlightening. Our aim is to influence the way services are delivered to ensure equality for disabled people.

Our Movers Service offers the opportunity to get involved in dance and gentle exercise in a fun environment. We provide advice and guidance about how to eat more healthily and stay in shape, plus there is a weekly weigh-in opportunity. There is also a chance to take part in healthy activities, such as walks and swimming.

We have also developed a range of everyday communication tools that enable individuals to communicate effectively and have the support they need to live more independent and meaningful lives. This includes: pictorial timetables, person-centred plans, support plans and symbol keyrings. We are an accredited centre for Arts Awards and Open Awards and offer the opportunity for people who use our service to gain nationally recognised qualifications. We also offer work placement and volunteering opportunities in the local community.
