One Vision Media Productions
One Vision Media Productions is a non-profit user led group working in Wigan that provides training courses for people with learning disabilities in all aspects of media production.
One Vision was established in October 1998 through a free speech group. The group found it easier and much more effective getting their point across on video. Taking away the live presentation allowed people to relax and work at their own pace. The whole process was enjoyed so much we decided to set up as a not for profit organization
We offer students the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills and knowledge, plus hands on practical experience doing things that are uniquely right for each person with support that meets their individual and specific requirements.
Our varied training programme includes:
Pre-production and Drama
Film and Media
- Camera Training
Transferable skills to employment
- Prop Shop
- Art and Design
- Computer Skills
Places are available for those interested in taking part in a range of activities. Students will be working in a friendly, safe and supported environment and we hope that students will gain new skills, meet new people, be creative and of course have fun.
In addition to our training activities, we have produced videos for free speech groups in and around Wigan and we have produced videos for Wigan Social Services about their complaints procedures and an induction video for new employees.
We also write, produce, film and edit our own short film productions.
Through all our activities we aim to improve confidence and self-esteem and to enable people with learning disabilities to lead full and purposeful lives within their community.
