One2One Companionship
Tackling loneliness was my aim of setting this service up; to have the time to chat and spend quality time without rushing. Our elders have a great deal to share with their memories.
Services I am offering can be adapted to individuals and are as follows:
Someone to chat to, over a cup of tea/coffee
Helping to organise your home and household admin (Letters, phone call, appointments etc)
Prescription collection for existing clients
Help to book holidays or make online orders
Support to engage in activities and hobbies or anything else that makes your life easier.
Why I started this business:
My mum was a scheme manager in a warden-controlled housing, which resulted in my childhood being spent around the elderly residents.
They would treat me like one of their family. Instead of 4, I had 48 grandparents.
Since meeting my husband, I became his full-time carer, as he suffers from long term health issues. Despite this we were fortunate to have a family who are now pursuing their own ambitions.
After suffering from a chronic illness, I have been a home visitor for a local charity for 8 years.
