Open Art Box CIC

We are a not-for-profit visual arts organisation running art workshops and projects to help enhance the wellbeing of those affected by dementia and their caregivers.

We would normally be running small group workshops in local museums, art galleries and other local venues, but since Covid-19 have mainly been providing activities, delivered to peoples homes. We offer weekly packs to peoples doorsteps which contain all the art materials needed, simple instructions, as well as support through regular telephone contact with Open Art Box artists.

We share the work and experiences of people involved in our projects, offering a platform for them to present their artwork to the wider community. We often do this both through physical exhibitions as well as online through social media and our website.

Comments from some of our current art box recipients:

“I absolutely have found my thing. These art boxes are keeping me sane!” Lynne (carer)

“these activities have been helping me more than anything else these last few months, keeping my mind stimulated” Katherine, living with dementia
