‘SAFE’ Supporting A Friend Everyday

S.A.F.E. is the acronym for my venture, short for ‘Supporting A Friend Everyday’.

My ethos is ‘It’s not about what has happened or where you are right now… but how we manage it… for hope is eternal when a friend is there to help…’ Why not email me on checkinandchat00@gmail.com

About me

I have been fortunate to have a family that has inspired me to provide help and support that makes a difference. My son, who has Autism, taught me to see the world through different eyes. His changing needs and views have encouraged me to provide adaptive support in a regularly changing environment.

My partner sadly passed away and I was privileged to be next to and care for him during the last years of his life. He always encouraged me to push my boundaries, including completing degrees in law and children’s sciences as a mature student.

As a professional, I have fond memories working in schools, university, home care, nursing, cleaning, sales, transport, and radio. As a volunteer I have mentored many adults, students, and children through difficult times in their lives.

I am excited that I’m able to utilise all that I have learnt from these experiences and provide help and support to those in need.

The people I support

You may be an older person, someone protected or in need, or someone with a disability who could do with a little bit of help here and there, or you may be a family member of someone with certain needs.

The support I provide

What I offer is all about what makes a real difference to you, this could include:

·        Help with trips out or visiting someone

·        Help with appointments, sorting out bills or responding to letters or emails

·        Help with getting into a hobby you may like or connecting with people

·        Talking about loss and bereavement

If you are looking for another type of help, get in touch and we can chat about it. Because this is a person-centred service which can adapt to different people’s needs, get in touch to discuss them with me.

My service covers a 5-mile radius (I have a full clean UK driving licence) but no individual will be turned away prior to discussion, if out of my locality.

Appointments can be met by various types of contact (phone, email, zoom and in person) with time slots (15 mins-3 hours) available to suit all needs, offering a generalised one-stop community service.

I do offer the opportunity to discuss and signpost where applicable, especially if I cannot help in areas such as personal care roles  as I can pass the details on to other services to see if they can help.

Thank you for reading and good luck.
