Hello my name is Mandy, and I have set up “Stepping Out” to provide a professional, personalised and holistic support service for both young, and not so young adults, with the aim of ‘supporting people to live life’.
For the past 20 years I have been employed in adult social care within both the private and public sectors. During this time I have undertaken a range of training and gained a wealth of knowledge and experience working with people of all ages and abilities. This has included creating a range of activities for individual and group sessions, community based activities, and employment support.
I am naturally friendly and love working with people and valuing each person as an individual, placing them and their needs at the centre from the offset.
“Stepping Out” care and support will provide a tailored service aimed at nurturing, building independence and life skills in a purposeful manor, whilst retaining enjoyment and a sense of fun to promote well-being. My experience has taught me that by working closely with people, taking the time to get to know them and adopting a consistent but flexible approach, where there is mutual respect and trust, solutions can be found to improve peoples lives.
Prior to working in adult social care my background was in dance, exercise and gym instruction, which provided the foundations to enable me to promote fun and enjoyment and support people to live a life that is fullfilling to them.
