Sue’s Holistic Support
Hello my name is Sue, I have lived in Glastonbury since 1986 and I am mother to 1 grown up daughter and I have 2 young grandchildren. I am a young 55 and have had many years’ experience, including 10 years caring for, nursing and supporting a family member through 11+ surgeries and 5 years working as a community care and support worker. I have several qualifications including Understanding Health and Social Care from the Open University and a Certificate in Preschool Practice.
I am flexible and hardworking, practical and down to earth, kind and sometimes funny. I feel that the years I spent caring for someone close to me has given me a unique insight into how it feels to need help with sometimes, even simple tasks just to help you get through your day and the effect this can have on friends and family, and your relationships.
I have experience of working with many physical conditions including blindness, mobility difficulties and surgery including major and minor. Also, mental wellbeing including anxiety, depression and alcohol dependency. As I was a sole carer for many years, I also offer respite and support for carers.
I am fully insured and DBS checked as well as having many relevant training certificates.
My main aim is to live and work in a community I love, helping people stay safe and able to live their life to the full. I love to work closely with people by offering everyone an individual plan for their support which covers anything and everything that is important to you. We can talk through everything you need help with and make plans for how you can achieve your goals.
I will also regularly review your individual support plan to make sure things stay fresh and any changes or new ideas are included. I am always open to new experiences and love working with people and their families, friends and other professionals in new ways to achieve the best result for whoever I am support.
