The Place
The Place is a Children and Family project that supports children and their families in and around Faringdon.
The Place is a community led group which welcomes all families with children under 5. It is a non judgemental, friendly led Group which offers a place for ALL families to feel accepted and welcomed.
The Place was set up as a result of the closure of the local Children Centre. Members of Faringdon’s community, including the Town Council, local Churches, School and Parents put together a business plan, working with Spurgeons Children Charity. The Place was successful in obtaining community funding from Oxfordshire County Council and with the Town Council’s financial contribution along with the Church, Lord Faringdon and other local charities and fundraising it was able to open its door to Families in June 2018.
Since then local fundraising and continued commitment from the Town Council has enabled The Place to grow from strength to strength. This has culminated in The Place moving into its own premises within the next few months.
