The Worcestershire Woodland Project (WWP) offers participants an opportunity to experience working in an outdoor woodland setting: learning new skills, building social skills and raising levels of confidence and improving levels of physical and mental health and wellbeing through the use of social forestry.
We aim to equip participants with skills to use in the workplace or just life itself. We involve people in conservation work and woodland management, and our activities range from coppicing, weaving fences, pole lathe wood turning, cooking on camp fires to walking through the woodland learning the history and dynamics of the woodland environment. Our base camp is in Churchill Wood, Spetchley and we have a further indoor workshop also on the Spetchley estate. The materials we use are sourced from the wood itself.
People of all ages and abilities can participate as there are tasks to suit everyone. We accept direct payments / personal budgets and are an approved supplier with Worcestershire County Council. We also provide optional door to door transport.
We have overnight camps several times a year (optional) and visit industry related shows each year too as part of our activities.
We produce, sell and deliver firewood and kindling to Worcestershire residents.
