Whole Body Therapy
Whole Body Therapy is a social enterprise founded by Sarah Allman, a qualified massage therapist and a qualified Postural Stability Instructor who specialises in exercise and soft tissue massage for frailer older adults to regain and maintain strength, balance and flexibility.
The services we offer are soft tissue massage therapy and strength and balance retraining for the older population.
An assessment is conducted with you at the time of your initial session, ensuring your service is tailored to your needs.
Reasons to receive a course of treatments from us could be:
- To aid rehabilitation for a soft tissue injury
- To rebuild your confidence following a fall
- To improve the blood flow to limbs and aid in the reduction of swelling
- To improve your balance, mobility, and strength
- To reduce pain and stiffness in joints and muscles
- To maintain hand dexterity and lower limb functionality
- To create a positive touch and a calming/relaxing experience
- To improve appetite
- To reduce anxiety and depression
Sarah and her team has experience of working with people with dementia and older people at home,in residential, nursing or extra care schemes in Barking, Dagenham and Havering. She will work with you to improve your well-being, enhance your quality of life and to help maintain your independence/mobility for as long as possible.
Services are available in your home or a communal area(within a residential setting) and can be adapted to your individual needs.
Whole Body Therapy can also be requested to create and lead a falls prevention exercise class for your community group.

Has previously been funded by the National Lottery Big Lottery Fund to run specialist exercise classes for the over 65’s in the borough of Barking & Dagenham and funded by LBBD to facilitate a falls prevention community exercise service.
