YogaAntics

YogaAntics: on a mission to improve wellbeing, keeping yoga fun, friendly and playful. Classes/taster sessions can easily be set up for your groups/community, please get in touch.

I provide friendly classes to ensure that communities who may not get the opportunity to practice yoga are able to come together, socialise, make new friends, have time for themselves. These classes allow participants to educate themselves as to how physical yoga postures, breathing techniques and relaxation practices can positively impact our health and wellbeing. I offer a friendly, fun and open atmosphere.

Studies (links available) show that yoga practices have a significant impact on wellbeing particularly for those who:
Suffer from stress, anxiety or mild depression
Need to improve general health, feel well and be supported
Are at risk of social isolation
Need to improve balance, strength and flexibility

• WEEKLY CLASS FOR ADULTS WITH ADDITIONAL NEEDS. Via Zoom.

A weekly class for adults with learning disabilities where we explore yoga poses, breathing practices and relaxation in a fun and relax environment with tons of sensory items and music where appropriate. A chance to catch up and chat and make new friends before the class.

Supporting those with Down Syndrome, Autism, ADD, ADHD and other developmental disabilities.

• RESTORATIVE YOGA FOR CARERS IN HERTS

A gentle mainly floor based yoga class incorporating postures, breath-work and relaxation & meditation. Our focus is on stress reduction & reducing anxiety by taking some time out to move & breath in an accessible & inclusive way. Restorative yoga uses props such as blankets and blocks to support your body in the poses. We stay in them for longer meaning there is plenty of time for you. Restorative yoga places the emphasis of yoga on the nervous system and the stress response.

• YOGAJAM

Calling all big kids, the playful and the curious.  Music brings people together, bring your festival spirit and enjoy a fun filled session. Inspired by yoga practices this session will empower you to embrace that playful nature, have fun and leave on a high with more spring in your step and yoga in your heart.

• THEMED SESSIONS PERFECT FOR FAMILY YOGA, KIDS & SEN/ADDITIONAL NEEDS CLASSES

Come and have fun. No yoga experience needed. We will go on a yoga adventure together, with lots of yoga poses, games, music, partner poses, props and time for relaxation.

Themes have included:
Harry Potter
Mum & Daughter
Superhero
Under the Sea
Jungle

• HATHA YOGA. WEEKLY YOGA CLASSES FOR ADULTS

A gentle yoga class incorporating postures, breath work and relaxation &/or meditation. All are welcome. Equipment provided but you might like to bring your own. The practice is an exploration or self enquiry into the connection of the mind, body and breath, working together in harmony – without distraction. Whether you are new to yoga and feeling curious, looking to make a positive change in your life or improve your flexibility, you will be very welcome.

• 1-2-1 & SMALL GROUP SESSIONS

We all have different bodies, unique lives and needs. I am offering private 1-2-1 and small group Hatha yoga & meditation sessions from your home or my little space in Ware, I am happy to travel to surrounding areas.

These sessions mean we spend time focussing on what you need or want to get out of it. More time to relax? Gain confidence in poses? Focus on alignment? Improve mental health, stress and anxiety? Introduce yourself to breathing techniques? Share some time with your family or friends?

I will:
Listen to what you need and create sessions to suit you and your group.
Make it as friendly, chilled and as laid back as possible.
No gymnastics, a focus on finding that happy place in each pose.

LOREN:

I joined the local leisure centre, looking for an exercise that wasn’t running on a treadmill for hours on end and discovered the start of what I am sure will be a life long journey.  I trained to teach children & families with Rainbow Yoga in 2017 bringing yoga to primary schools, clubs, brownies, guides and festivals.

I completed the 500hr L4 Diploma in Teaching Yoga with The British Wheel of Yoga and learnt how a 5000 year old tradition is extremely relevant for our modern lives. I am fascinated by what yoga reveals about our minds and bodies and how it can encourage us to live a happy and fulfilling life off the mat.

I work at a local college as a wellness coach offering yoga & mindfulness to young people with learning difficulties and providing the teaching & support staff with weekly sessions focussed on reducing stress & anxiety. I enjoy introducing yoga to those who may discount, or would not normally have the opportunity to access classes. I love using props, music & games in sessions where possible. You can also find me teaching weekly classes in Ware & Cheshunt.

I hope to offer a friendly space and a relaxed atmosphere to enable you to explore what yoga means to you.
