Your IT Now

Hello! I’m Alex Roland and I run “Your IT Now”.  We are 100% independent and provide one to one support for people with a learning disability to learn to use the internet, technology, computers, iPad etc. in a safe way that enables people to better engage with their friends family and local community.

As well as specialised technology support we can also offer more general care and support packages for people with a learning disability. I have over 20 years’ experience working with people with a learning disability in both the private and public sectors and am more than happy to chat with you about how I may be able to help you.

It may be help with money, trips out, shopping, social events, looking for work, dealing with benefits and applications, advocacy or any other aspect of daily life.

My services can be paid for by individual budgets, direct payments or privately funded.

We also run courses on internet and social media safety for people with learning disabilities as well as courses for parents and carers on “Sensible sex education” for people with learning disabilities. This course was commissioned by Somerset County Council .

In July 2017 we were thrilled to win the “Making a difference” award at the National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards at the International Conference Centre in Birmingham . Check out the video of the award here.

We were also  nominated and are a finalist for the 2022 Sedgemoor Business Awards  community contribution award.

We were gold winners at the Somerset Outstanding Care Awards 2019 in the community engagement, supplier of the year and innovation categories and a bronze winner in the outstanding contribution to social care award categories.

We won the 2019 Tech Awards Southwest community contribution award for our  pop up digital hub work.

We are especially proud of our community initiatives , such as the pop-up digital hub helping ALL members of the community access free technology and internet support.

We also recently launched “Game Changer” which is a 3 hour social video gaming session for neurodiverse people based in Taunton( library), Bridgwater and Yeovil. This has become hugely popular and is attracting national attention and has just won the Community Engagement Award at the Markel 3rd sector care awards.

I cover Taunton, Bridgwater, and most of Somerset.  Other areas by arrangement.

Below is a recent recommendation left on our Facebook page

“Alex from Your It Now is 100% invested in not only the work that he does, but in working with others, giving advice, sharing information and helping to ensure that the people we work with have as many opportunities as possible to lead fulfilling, interesting and satisfying lives. You will not meet a more enthusiastic or committed individual anywhere.” Michelle
