Reform in government procurement

Central government have announced changes to its procurement practices to boost social value considerations and reduce barriers for social enterprises.

Cabinet minister David Lidington said the new approach in central government “will ensure this further levels the playing field for our small businesses and social enterprises – they are closest to our communities and will be in the best possible position to deliver social value through the contract”.
