Research on social investment in smaller charities
The Institute for Voluntary Action Research (IVAR) has started researching the experience of small and medium-sized charities in seeking, securing and managing social investment.
IVAR plans to share what is learnt at key stages during the research. This will include three main elements: a review of existing evidence for insights into the experiences of small and medium charities, interviews with charities that have sought social investment, and with charity infrastructure bodies.
For the research, social investment is understood as investment that provides a social as well as a financial return.
Comments or reflections about the experience of any small and medium sized charities are welcome, but especially for organisations with an income below £100,000.
